Fonts and typefaces

Your computer likely has quite a number of them. A bit about the terminology: Times New Roman and Arial are two examples of typefaces. Each has a number of fonts available such as bold or italics. Each also is available in a variety of sizes such as 8, 9, 10, 11, 12…. 48. A typeface is a family of fonts. The term font is frequently misused. You can change the look and feel of your writing by using different fonts and typefaces. Before computers, the only way to change look or feel on a typewriter was using UPPER CASE or underlining.
