Which Internet browser should I use?
Internet Explorer is clearly a more secure browser than the alternatives. The vast majority of my client computers that have been infected by malware are running browsers other than IE.
Some people are using alternative browsers like FireFox, Chrome, Opera or Safari. Although all four have nice features, some better than IE, none of them are nearly as universal as IE. Of the four, Firefox is the one that is almost as universal as IE. That means you will find web pages that do not work as intended. IE is so prevalently used that developers design for it. The four were originally designed at a time when IE was really lacking a lot of features. Since the introduction of IE8, those advantages have largely disappeared. Internet Explorer version 11 is current for Windows 7 and version 9 for Vista.
